What I Did On My Summer Vacation
by Jubilation Lee

This is sure gonna be fun, Jubilee sulked. She wasn't real into the concept of reports to begin with, and this particular assignment was just plain dumb. Frosty already knew what she'd been doing.

And then there were the new students at the school. The norms Emma's older sister had brought in to make some money off the school. Jubilee couldn't very well turn in a true report of how she'd spent the summer, not when they were going to have to present these reports out loud in front of the class.

No prob, Jubilee reflected. I'll just make stuff up.

The only trouble with that plan was that it was nearly midnight, and after a six-hour movie marathon spent slugging soda and scarfing up junk food, all she really wanted to do was sleep.

But she had to get the report done. The penalty for not doing so had already been made public knowledge -- two weeks on laundry detail. An' bleach makes me break out.

So. What had she done?

Lessee. Captured by Magneto in a raid on Genosha with Wolvie. Two days of imprisonment -- without any sign of Wolvie -- before she'd managed to surprise an unwary guard and escape. A hasty call to the X-Men. Their arrival. The unpleasant scene where Magneto had handed Wolverine over to Professor X. The lecture from Scott.

She chewed on her pencil and then printed neatly.

"I visited a colorful foreign country. I was able to make contact with one of the natives of that country. I learned a lot about getting along with others during my trip, and the importance of remembering travel safety."

Jubilee looked at it for a moment, then shrugged. Lame, but it would have to do. At least it was true. Maybe tomorrow she could add something about what Rogue did to Bobby after the hair dye incident. She wrinkled her nose. Not that that incident was any more printable.

Yawning, she fell into bed, asleep before she could remember to turn the light off.
